Delusional, I killed a man
Diana Salles

Brazilian Diana Salles is a proud young transgender woman. She studied aerial acrobatics at the circus school in Brussels and currently lives in Berlin. Her solo circus performance 'Delusional, I killed a man' is inspired by her own transition and the alternating feelings that many transgender people experience when leaving their assigned gender behind: a sense of death and rebirth.

Together with director Firenze Guidi, Diana digs into the complexity of overcoming the past and finding ultimate freedom. The circus theater offers her plenty of space for this. Diana uses an extensive repertoire of disciplines, including aerial acrobatics, dance, singing and physical theatre. In doing so, she shows the physical and emotional strength needed to recognize the deepest truth within herself.

The follow-up discussion on Wednesday, May 1 with Diana Salles & Firenza Guidi will be led by Viola Karsten from the Goethe Institute
