Through a captivating combination of floor acrobatics and her signature Chinese pole dance style, she invites the audience to reflect on the impact of overconsumption. After the performance, Clara will host a clothing swap, encouraging visitors to bring clothes they no longer use and swap them for something new.

It is a performance that combines art, movement and a call to action for a more sustainable future. This work in progress is part of Circunstruction.

CIRCUNSTRUCTION
Circunstruction is the talent program of Circusstad Festival. It offers emerging circus makers the opportunity to develop their own show. Each year, the selected makers receive three weeks of rehearsal, workshops, artistic guidance and try-outs, as part of an intensive trajectory.

After the trajectory, Circunstruction offers support at an organizational level, so that the makers can move on to Circusstad Festival and the Dutch Circus Showcase, where they pitch their new performance to the many programmers from all over the world present at the festival.

The three selected projects for 2024/2025 are still in development and will premiere in a few months. During the festival, we will show these works as “work in progress”. A unique look behind the scenes at a circus performance in the making.
