During fifteen meetings, the players of Theater Babel, together with creator Liza van Brakel, explored what circus can mean as a connecting force. Where differences are not an obstacle, but rather an opportunity. They trained, performed, fell, and got back up again. 

What you see is not a finished product, but a glimpse of what emerged during those weeks. Here, Circus is about connection and trust, about testing boundaries, carrying and being carried. About doing something together that you might not dare to do alone. And who knows, maybe you will be carried too soon.  

Buitengewoon is a project by maker Liza van Brakel, Theater Babel, and Circusstad Festival. The goal is to create a more inclusive environment within circus where everyone gets the chance to discover their talent and stand on stage.
