Arnhem-born Goos Meeuwsen is undoubtedly one of the best clowns in the Netherlands. After training at the École nationale du Cirque in Montreal, he performed with Cirque du Soleil, among others. Together with his Brazilian partner Helena Bittencourt, he creates surprising, contemporary clown performances that breathe new life into the genre. 

In their latest production FREE!the Circus City of Chapiteau transforms into a movie theater. As soon as the lights dim, a black-and-white silent film world unfolds: two characters relive the same short film of their everyday lives over and over again, trapped on the screen. 

Outside of that world, two musicians play the soundtrack, providing live sound effects for every silent gesture. When the characters realize they're stuck in an endless loop, they begin searching for a way out. What initially seems impossible culminates in a quest for new connections and freedom.
