For circus artists & participants

Discover your circus dreams and shine on stage! Circusstad Festival and circus artist and maker Liza van Brakel join forces to create an inclusive environment in which people with intellectual disabilities work together with professional circus artists. Together they set up a new program in which culture makers with an intellectual disability, with and without circus experience, work together with a professional circus artist for 15 half-days. Through workshops, training and coaching, they create a circus act one on one that will be shown during Circusstad Festival. Open Call:
Are you someone with an intellectual disability, interested in circus, theater, dance or sports? Or are you a circus artist with an open heart for inclusive collaborations? We invite you to participate in this extraordinary project.
This is a unique opportunity to work intensively and inclusively together during 15 sessions between February and May on the creation of a circus act and to perform on stage during the Circusstad Festival. Your dreams and ideas form the starting point for the content of the performance.

How to participate:
Stuur een e-mail bericht naar liza@circusstad.nl, we vragen we je om een korte introductie over jezelf te geven, wat je interesses zijn, je circusdromen en welke ervaring je hebt (indien van toepassing).Na de aanmeldingen nodigen we circa 15 mensen uit voor een ontmoetings-/workshop dag, waar de deelnemers een interactieve circusmiddag beleven. Twee BuitenGewone duo’s krijgen vervolgens de kans om een co-creatie aan te gaan en hun circusdroom te realiseren.
