Eindelijk komt ‘Les Voyages’ van het wereldberoemde Compagnie XY naar Nederland! Als cadeau aan de stad brengt de 10e editie van Circusstad Festival dit alom bejubelde project naar Rotterdam Zuid.
18 acrobaten strijken voorafgaand aan het festival zes dagen lang neer in de wijk IJsselmonde. Zij maken de dagelijkse routes van wijkbewoners, naar huis, werk of winkel, ineens tot een spannende reis (‘voyage’). Om iedere hoek kan een verrassing wachten. Toevallige omstanders worden soms letterlijk op handen gedragen en onderdeel van de circusperformance.
Een unieke beleving! Zelden komen artistiek hoogstaand circus en sociaal-maatschappelijke impact zo dicht bij elkaar.
Bij elke ontmoeting met de acrobaten worden de wijkbewoners uitgenodigd voor Le Grand Rendez Vous, de adembenemende slotpresentatie in het hart van IJsselmonde waarmee Circusstad Festival officieel wordt geopend.
